SOUND MEDITATION
I started doing yoga and meditating when I was 16, and though I didn’t know it at the time, it was the single most important life-decision I have taken. I have remained a life-long practitioner and teacher of both. I am delighted to invite you to watch a free Introduction to Meditation talk in the hope that you will decide to learn Primordial Sound Meditation (PSM) technique.
For thousands of years people have used meditation to move the mind from a state of activity into one of profound peace and expanded awareness. In our age of increasingly busy schedules, the state of restful awareness that is accessible through meditation is more valuable to us than ever.
Anyone can learn to meditate, if you can sit comfortably in a chair and close your eyes, then you can meditate, you do not need to be able to do seated yoga poses in order to meditate.
Meditation offers numerous health benefits, as evidenced in over a thousand peer-reviewed scientific studies. Our stress levels are often higher than we can comfortably process, and this can manifest itself as a multitude of physical and emotional issues. It is increasingly common for people to suffer from being ‘tired but wired’, unable to switch off but badly in need of rest.

Meditation is a practical tool that reduces stress levels and re-balances one’s system, and is highly conducive to physical and emotional well-being. When you meditate, several physical changes happen spontaneously, and practicing daily can help you to:
Manage stress
Reduce anxiety
Improve your relationships
Create inner peace
Awaken your intuition
Lower your blood pressure
Become less judgmental
Deepen your connection to spirit
Enhance your sleep patterns
Dialling down anxiety levels allows the body to exhibit its innate self-healing abilities; it is nourishing on the most profound level.
As a Chopra Certified Meditation Instructor, I teach Primordial Sound Meditation (PSM). This is a practice that derives from the ancient Vedic tradition of India is entirely suitable to fit in to modern day life. PSM practice can help one to progressively quieten one’s thought until one effortlessly slips beyond mental activity.
During the eight sessions that comprise this meditation course, you will learn how to meditate using a mantra selected specifically for you. You will learn how to access the lifelong benefits that this one simple practice can bring, allowing you to discover your inner potential and innate creativity. Anyone who can sit comfortably can meditate: meditation is the most effortless thing you will ever do.
PSM Instruction is available in group classes held six times per year, and also on a one-to-one basis. Group courses are currently held exclusively on-line due to the pandemic. Once official advice permits, sessions will resume again in Dalston, London and Sevenoaks, Kent. They can also be conducted in your home or office.
Part 1 – Introduction to Primordial Sound Meditation
In the first session, you will be introduced to the background of PSM and learn about the proven benefits of this healing practice – a highly effective technique that allows us to experience inner calm and deep relaxation. This session is offered free of charge. Kindly email me on lrnmcn@gmail.com and I will send you the link to this 25 min video.
Part 2 – Personal Instruction Procedure
Having watched the Introduction session, you are invited to make an appointment for a free Discovery call with me on +447957195618 to answer any further questions you may have and make an appointment to learn the technique or we can simply arrange a convenient time for you to learn.
You will be taught your mantra individually by appointment on a 1:1 basis in a session lasting 45-60 mins. The mantra is specifically selected from 108 mantras for each individual student and as such has a more powerful resonance with your consciousness than generic, group mantras. It is a word that has no particular meaning and as such there is less temptation to get caught up in a narrative. The word mantra has two parts: “man”, meaning mind, and “tra”, meaning vehicle, and this vehicle takes you from mental activity to progressively deeper levels of relaxation. You will learn why thoughts arise during meditation and exactly what to do with them when they occur; there is no need to force anything ever during meditation. Here you will learn to meditate in an easy and effortless manner. We don’t meditate in order to make ourselves comfortable, we meditate in a comfortable manner. You can arrange this session anytime.
Part 3 – Perfecting the Practice
Having learned to meditate, in this session you will learn more about practical mechanics of meditation. We will cover the Do’s and Dont’s of meditation which will help you develop a confident and enjoyable practice that will serve you throughout your life. This is also a forum where you can ask questions and discuss your experiences. The class is concluded with a guided meditation and more additional elements will be added such a a simple breathing technique and key affirmations. This class is also recorded so you can watch it at your leisure.
Part 4 – Higher States of Consciousness
In this final live session I will summarise the keys points of the course and discuss the ways in which meditation accelerates the process of personal evolution. With each progressive meditation, layers of deep-rooted stresses are released. These stresses create a barrier between us and the realization of our true potential and, as they are dissolved though regular practice, we become more connected to our essential nature. We will take a closer look at experiences that may lay ahead as our consciousness expands and higher states of consciousness become available to us.
Part 5
A 1:2:1 follow-up session 4-7 weeks after learning to check your meditation is progressing smoothly.
Part 6
Enjoy free attendance on a future PSM group course to refresh you knowledge.
Part 7
Enrich your practice by attending free, twice weekly group meditation sessions on Zoom.
Part 8
Enjoy lifetime after support.

Having taken the decision to learn to meditate properly, Lorraine was the obvious choice as I had attended several yoga retreats with her already. I know as a medical doctor involved in research, that experience in the field counts for a great deal, so I felt confident in her hands due to her 44 years as a meditation practitioner.
Learning to meditate in an online format worked surprisingly well for me, in fact I found it more effective than learning in person. After retreats I found it difficult to incorporate these beneficial practices into my everyday life back home as reality catches you and the duties and responsibilities you left behind take over again.
Learning to meditate in an online format was in fact more effective than learning in person. I was able to integrate meditation into my everyday life from the first moment. Using her experience as a yoga teacher, Lorraine took time during the individual one on one session to address my personal questions and to explain in detail how to achieve the optimal seating position in my most comfortable armchair with strategically placed cushions so I felt completely at ease. I still meditate in my room on the chair where I was first taught to meditate, and it works very well for me. I suspect if I had learned to meditate somewhere else I might not have found this ideal position back home.
Learning to meditate was a big step for me at 60 years of age, I was not sure a mind as active as mine would settle down into such a calming practice, but it has exceeded my highest expectations and I thank Lorraine for having given me the privilege of exploring this profound experience which continues to enrich many areas of my life.
